Steel. Rust. Decay. The crimson glow hums above you. Your cargo freighter drifts along the throes of outer space.

Wake up, Captain. Your crew needed you.

You’re drenched in sweat. Your arms are sore – and grazed with cuts. There’s a crick in your neck.

Sparking wires. Ventilation that hasn’t been cleaned out in generations. A fuzzy screen crackling with static.

You’re in a mech’s cockpit, but not the one you own. This one’s archaic. Claustrophobic. A discarded, broken worker robot for sure. Meant for little more than lifting cargo onto the ship. Nothing like the state-of-the-art, custom-built SCYPHOS-198 you commanded respect from – Until the crimson glow overtook your screen.

Ah, you remember now. You were tasked by Quark Ocean with delivering a shipment of the latest line of SCYPHOS-brand unmanned assault drones to Earth. Halfway through, the lockdown alarm sounded off, and the next thing you knew, three crew members’ life signs had blinked out.

Your ace pilot held down the frontlines while your first mate fled with you further into the ship.

But it was only a matter of time before the crimson glow got their mechs too.

So the only thing that survived the incursion… is this rust bucket.

The rest of the infected drones are waiting for you outside.

You’re the Captain of this ship. But you’re not going down with it.

Scrap Mechanica is a short mecha soulslike set in the distant future, where corrupted robots have taken over a cargo spaceship. You play as the lone survivor of their incursion, where you must fight back using the only weapon that can stop them: A rusty, broken-down construction mech. Brave deadly traps and defeat menacing machines to escape with your life!

Takes about 10-15 minutes to play all the way through, with a boss battle at the end.

This game was made over the span of eight months as my university senior project and a love letter to souls games!
